Chronic Pain/Illness Coach Mentoring Experience

This opportunity is for anyone who works with complex coaching clients and wants to find support amongst coaches and experienced coach mentors who specialize in chronic pain and chronic illness.

This is a weekly group mentoring experience that gives students access to experienced chronic pain coach mentors. Come ready to connect with coaches like you, who are seeking to change the world for people in pain. This mentoring experience is comprised of a weekly group mentoring experience that combines deep instruction, group dialogue and energizing skills practicum. The best part is that you'll be connected with people like you who want to make a difference for people suffering with chronic health challenges.

Pain Coach Academy Mentors:

Who we are:

We come from a variety of different backgrounds and have extensive experience coaching clients with chronic pain and chronic illness. We've learned through mistakes and setbacks so you don't have to!

We cut our teeth coaching people with chronic pain and chronic disease who don't believe they can change. Our expertise is built on nearly two decades of deep coaching work within the worker's comp system, the VA and State Prison Systems.

Professional education and development, years of trial and error, research-based strategies, and guidance from our own mentors have shaped us into helpers that embody confidence and competence in our work, and we want that for you too!

Our mentors are experienced National Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coaches (NBC-HWC's) and Certified Pain Management Coaches (CPMC).

Course Structure:

  1. Mentoring groups will meet weekly via Zoom and can be accessed through a monthly subscription.

  2. Mentoring groups are an hour long and have the following structure:

    1. Coach Mentor gives a short presentation on the concept of the week (15 minutes)

    2. Group dialogues about the concept together and asks questions (5 minutes)

    3. Group splits into breakout rooms and practices the concept together (25 minutes)

    4. Group returns to the main forum and explores what they learned (10 minutes)

    5. Students complete quiz and session feedback (5 minutes)

Course Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, the coach will be:

  • well versed in understanding new concepts that improve coaching dynamics and outcomes

  • Confident and proficient in practicing new skills that revitalize complex client challenges

  • Grounded in intuition and mental stability that improves deep listening and coaching engagement

  • Method of evaluation Following each group mentoring session, students will complete a short quiz that tests their knowledge of the content covered.

  • Number of ce’s (.5 per week): 26 per year

Paul has coached hundreds of clients with complex health challenges including chronic pain, alcoholism, autoimmune disorders, chronic illness, medication dependency, etc. Paul's favorite part of coaching is bringing his clients back into harmony with nature and natural law, tuning to spiritual wisdom within whatever tradition they belong, bringing presence and awareness into their day, and breaking out of lifelong patterns of negativity.
