About Cherie

With more than three decades in education, I’ve seen how the earliest years of teaching shape not just a child’s learning, but a teacher’s confidence and career.

I understand the reality educators face, balancing curriculum demands, navigating big emotions, managing behaviour, and supporting families, often while quietly questioning themselves. Teachers deserve the same compassion and steady support they offer every day.

That’s why I created this space: to walk alongside beginning and early career educators as they build simple systems, clear routines, and calm leadership from the very start.

Grounded in evidence-based practice and child development, my work bridges the gap between research and real classrooms, translating theory into practical strategies you can use in the moment.

I’m passionate about equipping teachers with the clarity and confidence to create calm, predictable, connected classrooms , where educators feel capable and children feel safe, seen and deeply valued.

Why I do this work

I believe every educator begins with a full heart and a deep desire to make a difference.

But the gap between what we’re taught in training and what we face in real classrooms - especially around behaviour - can feel overwhelming.

Too often, early career teachers are left navigating big emotions, complex behaviour, curriculum pressure, and their own exhaustion without clear systems or support.

Over the years, I’ve learned that real change doesn’t begin by “fixing” children. It begins by strengthening the adults in the room. Like the old parable of the villagers pulling children from the river, we can keep reacting, or we can go upstream. We can ask:

What structures are missing?
What support do teachers need?
And how do we help them stay steady?

This is why I do this work.

To equip beginning and early career educators with simple systems, clear routines, and calm leadership, the practical foundations many were never explicitly taught but deeply deserve.

Because when teachers feel steady and supported, classrooms become predictable, connected spaces where every child can feel safe, seen and ready to learn.

Why I Do This Work

I believe every child is precious and deserves to end each day feeling safe, loved, and deeply valued. Yet too often, our classrooms are filled with little ones carrying worries and emotional loads far bigger than they should have to bear.

Instead of only reacting to the struggles we see, I felt called to look upstream—to search for the causes, not just respond to the consequences. Like the parable of the villagers rescuing children from the river, I realised true change happens when we walk upstream and ask: What’s pulling them in to begin with?

For me, the answer has always been clear: equip educators—the steady, caring adults’ children spend so much of their lives with—to weave wellbeing into the very heart of learning. Because when teachers feel confident and supported, children grow up in classrooms where they are safe, seen, and free to thrive.

Who is this for?

This space is for teachers who care deeply about their students, their impact and their own wellbeing.

If you believe that children learn best when they feel safe, seen, and connected and you're ready to build a classroom culture rooted in calm and connection, then you’re in the right place.

You’ll feel at home here if you:

  • Want support navigating behaviour and burnout

  • Care deeply about children’s growth and wellbeing but also want to protect your own

  • Believe that calm classrooms start with calm teachers

  • Want simple, practical low prep strategies that actually work

  • Value connection, belonging and leading with the heart

My Mission

To support teachers in managing behaviour with calm and confidence , weaving wellbeing into everyday classroom practice

To create classrooms where every child feels safe, seen, and supported, because emotionally safe spaces start with calm, confident teachers.

To shape a generation of resilient learners by empowering the teachers who guide them, confident educators create connected classrooms.

Because when teachers lead with calm and connection, children feel safe and that’s when real learning begins.
