Kalyan qualified in 2005 with Merit from Cardiff University in the UK, as one of the top ten students in his year. Not long after graduating, he did further study
and gained the prestigious Member of the Faculty of Dental Surgery (MFDS) in 2006 from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He moved to Australia in 2012 and has never looked back.
With a thirst for learning, he has completed a 2-year orthodontic diploma (with Dr. Derek Mahony in 2017) which focuses on early interceptive orthodontics. He has been placing Dental implants for almost 10 years and often helps newer / younger colleagues plan out their own cases. He enjoys teaching and has been mentoring with the GDR program from the start and has also recently started mentoring at Melbourne University with students and new grads. It is hugely satisfying to him watching newly graduated Dentists gain confidence and clinical skills.

He also hates “Dental talk” and will make sure everything on your visit is as plain and simple as it can be.

DR ANDREW CHIO
Dentist
Dr Andrew Chio, who is the principal dentist of Arawatta Dental Centre, completed his dental degree from the University of Melbourne in 1995, where he
graduated at the top of his year. On graduation he then undertook his dental internship at the Bendigo Base Hospital before spending the next one and a half years working in a rural hospital in Nepal.
Dr. Chio is a strong advocate for a comprehensive and thorough approach to dental care and has a keen interest in the field of reconstructive and cosmetic dentistry. He devotes a significant portion of his time each year to attending numerous training and continuing education courses to keep up to date with the best of emerging dental technologies and materials. Dr. Chio has chosen to be a member of a variety of dental groups because he believes it to be important to stay involved in the profession he serves. These include membership in the Australian Dental Association and The Australian Prosthodontic Society, where he previously served in the Federal Committee. He is also a key opinion leader with several leading manufacturers of dental equipment and materials in the world today, including GC, Ultradent and previously with 3M-ESPE.
Dr Chio is also involved in the education of dentists in a lecturing capacity as well as assisting in specialty hands on courses designed to provide dentists with advanced training in specific areas of restorative dentistry. He is also currently involved in the undergraduate teaching in The University of Melbourne and at La Trobe University.
In addition to his commitment to caring for his patients in his practice and the above appointments, Dr Chio is also the team dentist to the Essendon Football Club, responsible for formulating and implementing the club’s dental program for the playing list.

DR GEOFF WAN
Dr Geoff is a Canadian born and Australian trained dentist. He has a passion for improving the lives of people by giving them a more confident smile, optimizing
function, and ensuring dental longevity. Dr Geoff has a keen interest cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics, and dental implants and spends most of his time in that line of work. Outside of the office, Dr Geoff is married with 2 children and maintains a healthy lifestyle supported by exercise and high-performance nutrition, and is an avid reader. Within the profession, he supports many dentists in helping them help their patients better.
DR GEORGE FOO
Dr George is one of the friendliest and most cheerful persons you could meet. He loves to chat and get to know each of his patients. Dr George is a kind and
caring person who will do his best to help his patients both young and old to smile and laugh.
He attended Melbourne University, graduating in 2006 with a Bachelor of Dental Science and is still actively involved in the University Mentoring Program.
Dr George strives to do the best for his patients, providing treatment that is planned and considered for the long term; continuing learning about new techniques and refining current methods. George attends many Continuing Professional Courses and is an instructor for orthodontic/surgery courses and provides mentoring to other general dentists believing that knowledge shared will benefit everyone.

DR VANDANA BUDHWAR
B.D.Sc, Grad Dip Implants (Melbourne)
Dr Vandana Budhwar completed her dental degree in 2004. Following graduation, she worked at The Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne as an
'Emergency Registrar' for 3 years.
Dr Budhwar has also practiced extensively in private practice across country Victoria and metropolitan Melbourne. She has taught and demonstrated to dental students at the University of Melbourne, and has completed a Post Graduate Clinical Diploma in Implantology.
Vandana is committed to delivering quality, evidence based comprehensive dental care to her patients and she has a special interest in periodontal and implant regenerative therapies, soft tissue grafting and reconstructive dental surgery.
Outside of dentistry Vandana enjoys spending time with her young family, keeping fit and reading historical fiction.

DR BEZ SHOKOUHI
gDR s thrilled to introduce Dr Bez Shokouhi. Originally from London, UK, Dr Bez is an experienced and highly qualified dentist having graduated
with honours from the prestigious King’s College London. Dr Bez completed a two-year degree in Aesthetic Dentistry from Kings College London and holds a diploma degree in Dental Implants from the University of Sydney. His clinical interests include dental implants, cosmetic dentistry, oral surgery, and orthodontics.
Dr Bez enjoys seeing patients of all ages and one of the things he loves about being a dentist is being able to make a difference to people’s health and well-being. Dr Bez believes that dentistry is a combination of science and health care, which is evolving at a fast pace; thus, he keeps himself at the forefront of continuing professional development to deliver the best possible care to his patients.
You will find Dr Bez is an exceptionally caring dentist and he always takes the time to explain dental conditions and all possible treatment options. Dr Bez is easy to chat to and enjoys many hobbies. As a dad, he has an impressive knowledge of Peppa Pig and the Wiggles.

DR. HOSSAM EL-HADDAD
Hossam graduated from Ain Shams University (Cairo, Egypt) in 2006, and worked in both public and private sectors before relocating to Australia in 2010.
Hossam obtained a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in 2015, and graduated with a Doctorate of Clinical Dentistry in Prosthodontics from the University of Melbourne in 2018. His research project centered on the use of novel CAD-CAM materials in full arch implant dentistry, and was published in the International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Implants.
Hossam now works at Prosthodontics Plus – a private specialist practice in Moonee Ponds. He enjoys ongoing involvement within the academic field as a lecturer and clinical supervisor at the University of Melbourne’s dental school, where he is also the coordinator of the implant component for DDS students and the academic lead of CPD. In collaboration with Melbourne University and the International Team for Implantology (ITI), Hossam delivers CPD programs that educate general dental practitioners on Prosthodontic topics.
He is an active member of the ITI, the Australian Dental Association (ADA), and the Australian Osseointegration Society (AOS). Hossam further serves as a committee member for the Australian Prosthodontic Society (APS), and is currently the Victorian representative within its Federal Committee.

DR EMMANUEL SIM

Dr Sim is a general family dentist who graduated from the University of Otago, New Zealand. He provides care in all areas of dentistry including restorations,
root canal therapy, gum disease management, wisdom teeth removal, extractions, dentures, crown and bridge, implants, cosmetic whitening and children’s dentistry.
Dr Sim’s mix of private practice and community-based clinic experiences from Melbourne and New Zealand allows him to offer flexible dental treatment options and express his expertise in evidence-based dental practice.

DR BECKY CHEN
Dr Becky Chen graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2008 and has been working in Ballarat since 2011. She feels privileged to work with people of all
ages and walks of life. Being born into a family of teachers, she loves connecting with her patients, hearing their goals and then giving them bespoke approaches to achieving it.
Becky's approachable and friendly nature helps relax anxious and young patients. She is accredited in the use of relative sedation and to treat patients under general anaesthesia at the Day Procedure.
She is a dedicated dentist who believes in modern practicing principles, high quality patient care and service. To achieve this, she is constantly seeking opportunities to tie in modern technology with progressive practicing principles. Her special areas of interest in dentistry include adult cosmetic orthodontics, as well as working closely with children and their families in general dentistry.
Apart from being a dentist, Becky is also a passionate emotional intelligence coach as well as a speaker and facilitator in the area of dental talent and team leadership.
